Speech begins: "Party is gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Wellever at the corner of Hill and Taylor streets in Hornellsville New York on the seventeenth day of February nineteen hundred to celebrate the anniversary of their golden wedding. Mr. David Wellever will say a few words." After a few stops and starts, a man sings an unidentified song. Then: "Mrs. David Wellever will now say a few words." Woman speaks: "[It's] January seventeenth nineteen hundred, a bright beautiful day, and we are celebrating our fiftieth anniversary." David Wellever (1822-1922) and Olive Arella (Stephens) Wellever (1829-1911) lived at 33 Taylor Street in Hornell, New York, just down Hill Street from W. H. Greenhow. Olive Arella was the sister of Amelia Stephens, wife of Obadiah Stephens of Canisteo; they were the adoptive parents of W. H. Greenhow's wife Nellie E. Stephens (born Ellen E. Bracow). According to the 1880 census, David was a brick manufacturer. Then: "Aunt Rebecca Hendershott will now tell how the bride was dressed fifty years ago." Sarah Rebecca (Stephens) Hendershott, born 1826, was another sister of Olive and Amelia. Other speakers are Amelia Delphina (Upson) Hinckley, daughter of another sister, Elizabeth (Stephens) Upson; and Rosanna Archer (not traced).
